History of the Consulate:

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Seychelles in the Czech Republic was founded in 1994. Ernst Pindur held the post of Honorary Consul from 1994 to 2014. At the present time, the obligations and tasks are carried out by Jana Stefankova, who has been employed as an executive employee of the Consulate since 1995. She was officially appointed to the post of Honorary Consul on 5th July 2016 by James Alix Michel, President of the Republic of Seychelles.

Activities of the Consulate:

The Honorary Consulate acts abroad on behalf of the Republic of Seychelles, in particular by supporting the business and cultural relations between the Czech and Seychelles Republics, assisting Czech and Seychellois citizens and providing basic information on entry and stay on the Seychelles islands.

The Consulate does not perform administrative duties related to the verification of signatures, documents and translations, issuance of registry documents, ID cards, driving licences and passports. Honorary Consul: Jana Stefankova

Jana Stefankova was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in the Czech Republic by Seychelles President James Alix Michel on 5th July 2016. Before assuming her consular duties, she had worked for several years as an executive employee of the Consulate, being in charge of the entire consular administration, assisting in resolving consular cases for Czech and Seychelles citizens and participating in significant international events.

Jana Stefankova was born in Havlickuv Brod. In 1994, she left the Czech Republic to study English language at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, where she spent a year before relocating to the Seychelles islands. There she collaborated with the organising committee of the Miss World contest which was held in Seychelles in 1997 and 1998. Simultaneously she began working for the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Seychelles and travelled around the world for several years.

In 1999, she returned to the Czech Republic for a short time, where she won a demanding audition to host a successful TV talk show. She acquired working skills in front of the camera and the art of communication with others. During her stays abroad, she enhanced her knowledge of languages. She then utilised all these talents and abilities as a presenter of important social events and press conferences.

Jana Stefankova obtained a Master's degree in 2009, when she successfully graduated from the Institute of Hospitality Management in Prague. At the same time, she established Bling-Bling Ltd., which is a highly respected company today. She has contributed to this company her many years' experience in the media, social and diplomatic spheres, supported by the knowledge acquired during her more than 20 years of active work in the Indian Ocean region.
