Reopening of Seychelles to Czech citizens!25.01.2021
18.01.2021 - In connection with the launch of the immunisation campaign, the Seychelles Government has decided to resume tourism activities and open its country to all foreign visitors, including citizens of the Czech Republic. The adoption of the new measures will be under way in the following two phases:
With immediate effect, entry is allowed to all visitors vaccinated against COVID-19, at least two weeks after receiving the second dose of the vaccine, and who show the relevant vaccination certificate and submit a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours. Unvaccinated visitors, who are currently admitted (1 and 2 country categories) are required to submit a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours. The entry ban at this stage continues to apply to unvaccinated visitors and visitors not coming from 1 and 2 country categories.
Once the majority of the adult population in Seychelles has been vaccinated, the country will be open to all unvaccinated visitors. Only a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours and adherence to current health measures (wearing face masks, social distancing, etc.) will be required.

Wavel Ramkalawan elected new President of the Republic of Seychelles02.11.2020
27.10.2020 - During the past weekend, Seychelles elected a new President who, for the first time since 1977, was an opposition candidate - the former Anglican priest Wavel Ramkalawan. The inauguration ceremony took place on Monday 26th October at the official seat of the Seychelles government, where the newly elected Vice-President Ahmed Afif was inaugurated together with the new President.

Death of France Albert René, former President of the Republic of Seychelles27.02.2019
27.02.2019 - The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Seychelles in Prague announces with deepest sympathy the death of the former President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr France Albert René on Wednesday, 27th February 2019, at the age of 83. Mr René carried out this function from 1977 to 2004, thus being the longest-serving Seychelles President. A State Funeral will be held on Thursday, 7th March 2019, which has been declared a Day of State Mourning. Jana Stefankova is the new Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles27.07.2016
27.07.2016 - On 5th July 2016, Jana Stefankova was officially appointed by the President of Seychelles, James Alix Michel, to the post of Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in the Czech Republic. After being an executive employee of the Consulate since 1995, this position follows her more than 20 years of activities in the Indian Ocean region, particularly on the Seychelles islands, and also on the activities of Ernst Pindur, who held the post of Honorary Consul from 1994 to 2014.
